The 7th Annual East Greenwich Restaurant Week starts Friday, Sept. 22, but you can get a head start while supporting a good cause at Savor EG, a tasting event presented by the EG Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the East Greenwich Yacht Club.

Savor EG will feature food from Feast Sandwich Co., Finn’s Harborside, Fresco, Four Brothers Pizzaria & Restaurant, Jigger’s Diner, Providence Coal-Fired Pizza, RASA, Red Stripe, The Martucci Group (Besos, SafeHouse and The Trap), Tio Mateo’s/ Greenwich Bay Gourmet, Twisted Pizza, Clementine’s Homemade Ice Cream, The Silver Spoon Bakery. There will be music from Alex Godiksen.

Proceeds will benefit Clothes to Kids, RI, a nonprofit that provides full wardrobes to school children at risk or in need. Guests are invited to bring a winter coat for a school-age child or new young men’s boxer briefs to help the effort and for a chance to win a door prize.

This year’s Restaurant Week (actually 10 days, Sept. 21-30) features a growing number of eateries, including Besos, BLU on the Water, Circe East Greenwich, Cobblestone’s Wood-Fired Pizza, Eleven Forty Nine, End Zone Pub & Grille, Feast Sandwich Company, Felicia’s Coffee, Finn’s Harborside, Four Brothers Pizzaria & Restaurant, Fresco, Greenwich Bay Oyster Bar, Jason’s Restaurant and Sushi Bar,  Jigger’s, Kai Bar, Kon Asian Bistro, La Masseria, Main Street Coffee, McKinley’s Pub, Meritage, Pal’s Restaurant, Papa Franco’s, Pizza Heaven, Providence Coal-Fired Pizza, Raku Sakura, RASA, Red Stripe, Richard’s Pub,  Ritrovo, SafeHouse, Siena (EG), Silver Spoon Bakery, T’s Restaurant (EG), The Trap, Tio Mateo’s/Greenwich Bay Gourmet, and Twisted Pizza.
