Playoff Action: LAX, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball

The playoffs are on for several EG teams, including the Boys Lacrosse team, which beat Cumberland 9-6 Wednesday. Three-time defending state champs, the Avengers will meet South Kingstown on Sunday at Brown for their third showdown in a row. The game starts at 3 p.m.

Boys Volleyball defeated Scituate 3-0 Thursday in the quarter-finals. They play Cranston West in the semi-finals Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Providence Career and Technical Center.

Girls Fast-Pitch Softball will play Classical in the Division II preliminaries at home Friday at 4 p.m.

The Boys Baseball team pulled out a squeaker on Wednesday, coming back from 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie it up, then scoring in the bottom of the 8th for the win. They play Cumberland away Friday at 4 p.m.

Girls LAX lost in the Division I semi-finals Wednesday to Barrington, 16-6.

Sunday’s volleyball playoff is at the Providence Career and Technical Center, across from Central High School not at PC. They would love a crowd of supporters as Cranston
West will surely have a large and loud crowd!!
