Obituary: Shirley A. Uhrin, 74

Shirley A.Uhrin, 74, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, July 2. She was the beloved wife of Dennis Uhrin for 51 years. They lived in East Greenwich and Warwick for the past 33 years. She was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1939 to Samuel and Anne (Talarico) Barber.

She was an extraordinary homemaker and mother, who was most proud of her family. She was the loving mother of Beth Burgess (Gene), Michele Forsell (David), and Christine Uhrin, and the adoring grandmother of Emily and Erin. She is survived by her sister Rosemary Chevalier (Edward) and her sisters-in-law Sophia and Carol Barber. She was preceded in death by her brothers Tom Barber, Ted Barber (Beverly), and Sam Barber.

She will be missed dearly!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours are Monday, July 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
