James Edward Twomey of East Greenwich, RI known to his family and friends as Jim, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 31. He was 59 years old.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth (Becky) Twomey, and their four sons Jimmy, David, Andrew and Joseph. He is also remembered by his brothers and sisters, David Twomey (Dee), Patty Jennings (David), Beth Robinson (David), Mary Swanick (John), Jack Twomey (Kim),  Susan Brown (Hampton), and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jim was predeceased in death by his parents, David and Elizabeth Twomey.

Jim was born on April 8, 1959, in Erie, Penn., the fourth of seven children. He attended East High School in West Chester, Penn., and Millersville University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. While in college he met the love of his life, Becky, and they married shortly after graduation.

They lived in East Greenwich, where Jim operated a family-owned business. Jim loved his family deeply and was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He had a great sense of humor and always had others laughing. He enjoyed cooking, reading, working and time with his family and friends.

We love you Jim and we will miss you forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 9, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church.
