Division Street Could Reopen Tuesday

by | Jun 26, 2018

The water main – an 8 inch pipe of unknown age – that broke on Division Street overnight Saturday has been repaired by Kent County Water Authority and service to the 27 or so houses it served has been restored but the street remains closed at least into Tuesday.

That’s no small thing for the town’s major east-west artery. Howland Road at Middle Road has shown the impact as the busiest detour route, with a long line of cars snaking its way through the intersection throughout the day, .

At 7 p.m. Monday, a construction crew was filling the trench dug to replace the pipe. The next step is repaving. Fingers crossed it gets done Tuesday.
