Bank RI Robbery Suspect Remains at Large

Police are looking for a man who held up the Bank RI branch on South County Trail at Division Street after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect allegedly entered the bank, walked up to the counter and demanded money from the bank tellers. The man did not show or use a weapon. He was described as a caucasian male between 5’7″ and 5’10” tall, wearing jeans, dark sneakers, a two-toned zippered jacket with the hood up, dark sunglasses and something covering his face and nose. He was carrying a messenger-type bag.

According to police, the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing on foot across the parking lot, across Division Road, heading west.

There were no reported injuries. In the bank at the time of the robbery were several employees and one customer. Police from  East Greenwich,

North Kingstown, Warwick and West Warwick, and state police K9 units searched the area. At this time the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact East Greenwich police at (401) 884-2244 or by email at
