The EGPD is trimmed with purple ribbons in honor of Gianna Cirella.

The Town of East Greenwich will host a community gathering tomorrow at the East Greenwich Police Station in observance of Gianna Cirella’s funeral procession, which is slated to pass the station shortly after 11 a.m.

Town Hall will be closed Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon.

Members of the public are invited to attend and are asked to wear purple and arrive at the Police Station by 11 a.m. The station is located at 176 First Avenue. On-street parking is available on neighboring side streets.

Gianna Cirella is the late daughter of the Town’s Deputy Police Chief, Stanley “Skip” Cirella. She enjoyed spending time at the station with her dad.

To provide town employees with an opportunity to support their colleague, all Town Hall departments and the departments of Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Information Technology will close from 11 a.m. to noon.  Programming at Swift Community Center will run as scheduled.
